New Kwan Yin statue arrived

We are happy and privileged to have received a magnificent big marble Kwan Yin statue, carved in Vietnam, on Saturday, 6th June 2015, which resides in front of our big cave.

Kwan Yin, a bodhisattva of compassion, is a timely reminder of forgiveness, love and compassion to everyone.

We are very grateful to our Vietnamese donors and supporters and we thank Gia Hieu, Tam Ngan, and our reliable builder Patrick for the perfect handling.

Upcoming Retreat

Dear friends and supporters of Santi,

We are happy to inform you and hope for your understanding that for the month of May (30 April – 05 June) a wonderful opportunity has arisen for our Santi community. We are taking this time off for an intensive in-house meditation retreat. Hence our program has to change and we hope for your support. Unless there is an urgent matter the nuns will not be available for after dana discussion in the library; however, we envisage a short Dhamma desana after lunch clean up (or possibly just before).

Please be aware that the monastic and the lay community are on intensive retreat, and please keep noble silence whenever possible. Thank you for supporting our practice in this way, also.

Basic time frame for lunch time activities:

Monastic Dana and Anumodana 11.00

Lunch for everyone 11.30 – 12.00

Communal clean-up 12.00 – 12.30

Dhamma Desana about 12.30

We ask you to leave quietly thereafter.

We will be a community of about 8 monastics and 5 resident lay-people.

This much needed retreat is only possible through your ongoing generosity and we are truly most grateful for your support during this time. We hope that the benefits gained through our practice will also flow onto you.

Please be aware that the above schedule replaces our daily routine as on the web for the time of retreat (no public meditation and talk Wednesday and Saturday etc.)

Invitation to celebrate Vesak at Santi: Saturday June 13
